Upon arrival, authorities determined the driver of an orange car had driven through a red light, which resulted in them striking an SUV as it traveled through the intersection of Providence and Brookhaven Roads around 10:55 p.m., according to Nether Providence police.

The SUV then struck the traffic light pole, causing it to fall onto the orange car, police said.

One of the drivers had minor injuries to her face and leg, whereas the other driver was checked out for a complaint of pain, police said.

Emergency services were able to clear the scene by 12:45 a.m., police said.

Despite that, authorities are encouraging drivers to use caution while approaching the intersection as portable stop signs have been set up, due to the traffic lights being inoperable after the incident.
